Known for sports car racing and sunny beaches, Daytona
Beach is also a haven for the arts. The London Symphony claims Daytona
Beach as their summer home and every other year they headline a music
festival of world renown. Home to Bethune-Cookman College, collections
of important African-American art is housed in several venues throughout
the area. From drama and music, to sculpture and painting, the arts in
general are an important part of life in Daytona Beach.

The Daytona Beach Symphony Society sponsors an annual concert series event
in January called the Daytona Winterfest. The series features orchestras
from all around the country and the world.

This large concert showcase is home to the Daytona Beach Symphony Society,
the Daytona Beach Civic Ballet and the London Symphony during the biennial
Florida International Festival.

Daytona Beach has the only professional music theater in the Southeast
which has a full-pit orchestra to accompany performances. Two theater
venues are used by the Seaside Music Theater. Summer and Winter season
productions are presented.
